Subject: New regulations – Residency Visa
Reference to the above mentioned subject, Please note that the Identity and Citizenship Authority has implemented new changes to the Visa and Residency of foreigners in all the Emirates of UAE.
Residency Visa Period
One of the biggest and the most important amendments is reducing the residency visa period for 2 Years instead of 3 Years, and this applies for any new request.
The current valid residency visa will not have any impact until the expiry date, then it will be renewed for 2 years only.
Cancellation grace period
The grace period after visa cancellation has been extended for 60 days after the date of Cancellation
Penalty/Fines
The daily fine for overstaying or not renewing the visa has been increased to AED 50 per day.
Grace period of Residency visa
It remains as it is, 30 days grace period to renew the visa after expiry.
Security Deposit to put dependents on hold
The guarantee value has been increased to AED 5,000
This new regulation applies to the employees who work in government departments and their families who are sponsored by them.
